nasty mondays anniversary promo

Here is a short promo I made for the Nasty Mondays New York One Year Anniversary. It's a short montage of Mad Max accompanied by an anonymous blonde. Max is the sex, drugs, and rock n' roll side of Nasty Mondays. With every promo, I wish to express a different side of the Nasty Mondays personality.

nasty mondays

Nasty Mondays is the giant epic party in Barcelona. It happens every Monday at the Apolo with over 2000 people. Last April, the DJ's of Nasty Mondays, Mad Mad and Sören, decided to start throwing a monthly party in NYC and it's been going strong ever since. It usually takes place the last Monday of every month at (le) Poisson Rouge. Their parties are a hot mess but the best time of your life so check them out. This is a video I shot of the guys running around NYC on their first trip to the city in April 2010.

sexual freedom day

This is am interview-based video I shot on a Canon 5D Mark II for the Woodhull Freedom Foundation in honor of Sexual Freedom Day asking people on the street, "What is sexual freedom?".

knockout

I was the DP on this video that my friend directed for the band Airwaves. I shot it on a 5D Mark II but then my friend transfered it to video or something crazy which gives it the lo-fi look.

love is a bat

I worked as assistant camera on this Hex Dispensers music video for "Love is a Bat". It was shot on Shelter Island one beautiful warm weekend. I just realized the sad fact that I don't think I've been back to the country ever since.

other jobs

Here are some other videos I've worked on in other capacities....

For example, I was the production coordinator for Moo Studios on this video for Eliza Doolittle. I learned so much getting my ass kicked in production for this video. Plus Cas Bird was co-director. So cool.

I worked in the art department on this Sia video which was extremely art-heavy. The video was shot in Sia's apartment, and she is also so cool.

And I worked as a PA for this Francis and the Lights video. Not super involved in this one, I just really love this song!

mother new york moves

This is a video I worked on for Mother, an ad agency in New York. I shot all the on-the-street interviews for them. It was pretty weird and I think we scared a lot of people that day. I worked on a few other things for Mother, not sure if I'll be able to locate them but I will keep you posted!

joana

Joan of Arc was my inspiration for this 16mm film but I ended up taking more from Vivre Sa Vie. I love the scene when Anna Karina is watching Carl Dreyer's "Passion of Joan of Arc". This is where I drew my inspiration from.

jay

Jay was the first 16mm film I ever shot. I cross processed reversal film and then spent months of my life toiling away in a closet optically printing the print into what you see now.

jenny

Jenny is the first and only 16mm film I actually finished with sound on actual film. No joking, I am the last student at the New School to ever do this. The semester I did it was the first time it wasn't required and soon after that digital-only editing was instituted there. For all my hard work I ended up winning the Outstanding Emerging Filmmaker Award at the school film festival that year.
